Sometimes we work with clients that like to re use furniture they already have to create a new look in their space or find a particular piece second hand, which they particularly like and want revamped to work with their scheme.
Other times, the furniture is very sentimental to them but they simply just want a new look or want the items to work with their new interior.
Whilst these are usually popular cases, there are times when we understand how tight your budget may sometimes be and it is never easy to find pieces of furniture brand new, for affordable prices. That’s why we recommend opting for the most affordable solution which is to purchase second hand pieces of furniture and paint them up.
Now a lot of the time, it’s really difficult to find beautiful pieces of furniture for bargain prices brand new. But if you have a good eye you can quite easily find pieces of furniture which have a lot of potential. You can find a good selection of furniture for good prices at car boot sales, auctions, charity shops or even ebay.
Ebay is usually a very good source especially if you are looking for something very particular.
A lot of the time you can snap up a good deal by bidding on items that have a 1p or £1 starting bid.
The trick to finding a good deal is to look at the time that the item is set to end, usually a lot of people will miss out on good deals on ebay because they simply don’t want to push the bid up by bidding early but on the other hand won’t be there to bid on it.
On a personal note, I personally like to think that it is actually a much nicer feeling when you can use something old to fit your purpose. Better not to make it your own as well. I mean, who doesn’t want a piece of furniture in their house that holds so much character and history? Soon your home will hold a collection of old things made new which creates a beautiful and rich interior, something that money simply cannot buy.
So if you’re looking for a little project, a new piece of furniture or to give your home a little character and history, why not give it a try? Find a beautiful piece of furniture, and give it a good paint. Think creatively or think practically, it’s entirely up to you, you are the artist, you are in control. Whether it may be a dramatic bold colour you’ve always wanted to incorporate within your home or a neutral pastel tone you fell in love with in that home magazine. Give it a go, what have you got to lose? You are capable of almost anything you set your mind to!
